Design fiction is the user of fictional uses of new devices, technology or situations in order to exolore the potential implications. This may include many potebtial knock-on effects, such as physical interactions between things, ethical issues, or envronmental impact. The use of realistic, albeit fictional, accounts helps designers or focus groups to work through these implications more easily than more abstract descriptions.
